Coffee Point is playing a leading role in adopting and promoting ‘fair trade’ policies to its flourishing client base.

The country’s largest independent vending company is a big supporter of ‘fair trade’ procedures where more ethical trading policies are adopted to ensure a better deal for producers, suppliers and their workers.

A recent tasting session at a leading London law firm emphasised the active role that Coffee Point plays in the worldwide initiative. Five Fair Trade and one standard brand were offered, so that the client could compare a wide beverage choice for taste and overall quality.

Coffee Point’s COO Charles Trace remarked: “Promoting and following ‘fair trade’ policies is a key component of our overall business philosophy.

“We are a major purchaser of freshly roasted coffee beans and we pay particular attention to working with suppliers who adopt ‘fair trade’ policies. We feel it is important to support ethical trading wherever possible to help improve workers’ rights and reduce general exploitation.”

Masteroast and our own Caffe Carezza blend, Café Direct coffee and Imporient tea are some of the ‘fair trade’ products used by the Group as part of ongoing market monitoring for new fair trade products.

“As a company we are fully committed to the aims and benefits of fair trade products. We fully embrace its philosophy and hope to persuade more and more of our clients to follow our lead.”

The Coffee Point Group also has strict environmental policies – from recycling packaging waste and vending cups to switching its vehicle fleet from diesel to ‘cleaner’ LPG fuel.
