OKW manufactures an extensive range of plastic enclosures for OEM electronics.  The company also manufactures aluminium enclosures under its METCASE brand, and is the UK representative for the ROLEC, TEKO and Serpac enclosure lines. OKW’s huge programme of standard enclosures includes many different styles and sizes. Many lines are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The enclosures are manufactured in a selection of materials including ABS, polycarbonate, PMMA and Noryl. These materials offer different flame class ratings from UL 94 HB to UL 94 V-0. The enclosures are also available with standard protection class ratings from IP54 to IP66.

Pocket Size Enclosures

An extensive range of small plastic enclosures designed for remote control and personal electronic devices. These modern ergonomic enclosures are comfortable to hold and have all the features necessary for mounting the electronic components. These include recessed top sections for membrane keypads, battery holders, infra-red materials and bump protection. OKW pocket enclosures are designed to be hand held, fitted to a key ring or wrist strap, or carried around the neck on a lanyard.  Standard sizes range from 52 x 32 x 15 mm to 120 x 65 x 22 mm.

Hand Held Enclosures

OKW hand held enclosures are highly innovative ergonomic housings that will enhance the visual impact and tactile quality of your electronics. This award winning range is designed for all types of portable electronic equipment from indoor data logging and machine controllers, to test and measurement devices used outdoor in the field. There is a huge range of styles and sizes available, many of which can be sealed to IP65 protection class. Standard features include battery compartments (for 1.5V AAA, 1.5V AA or 9V battery cells), recessed top sections for membrane keypads, LCD display windows, integrated cable glands, internal screw pillars for the PCBs and much more. Optional extras include belt/pocket clips, tilt stands, wall holders, bump protectors and desk or wall stations for charging/data transfer. Standard sizes range from 140 x 63 x 30 mm to 220 x 120 x 65 mm

Wall Mount Enclosures

OKW wall mount enclosures are designed for many different applications including indoor and outdoor electronics control equipment.  A wide selection of ergonomic designs in available with horizontal or sloping control panels which can be fitted with membrane keypads, LCDs or touch screens. Moulded in ABS or polycarbonate, these tough and highly practical housings can be easily mounted to a wall, machine or any other flat surface. Standard features include protection classes from IP54 to IP66, hinged transparent lids, aluminium front panels, separate terminal compartments, recessed areas for mounting membrane keypads or product labels, removable front sections, knockouts for cable glands, mounting pillars for PCBs and hidden fixing screws for added security. Optional extras include fast action wall mounting devices, battery mounting, contact kits, hinged sections and cable glands. Standard sizes range from 80 x 80 x 60 mm to 383 x 316 x 134 mm

Desktop Enclosures

OKW desktop enclosures feature inclined top sections for easy viewing of the displays and comfortable operation of the controls. These modern and ergonomic enclosures are available in a wide range of sizes and styles to suit many different applications including test and measurement, data input, communications, medical and point-of-sale terminals.

Standard features include protections classes from IP54 to IP65, ABS front covers or aluminium front panels, battery compartments for AA or 9V cells, separate terminal compartments, recessed areas for mounting membrane keypads or product labels, removable front sections, card reader slots, mounting pillars for PCBs and hidden fixing screws for added security. Standard sizes range from 150 x 120 x 43 mm to 490 x 240 x 40 mm.

Instrument Enclosures

OKW instrument enclosures are specially designed for high value portable or desktop instruments. The enclosures are available in a wide range of modern and ergonomic designs. All models include captured aluminium or ABS front panels for mounting the controls, displays and connections, plus mounting pillars in the top and base for the PCBs and electronic assemblies. Some models are also available with ABS sloping control panels for mounting membrane keypads, displays, rotary controls and plug connectors. For portable equipment the enclosures can be specified with a tilt and swivel carry handle bar that can be indexed at 30o increments. Other standard options include screw fixing or snap-together assembly, battery compartments for AA and 9V cells, tilt feet, and ventilation slots. Standard sizes range from 190 x 138 x 91 mm to 367 x 250 x 276 mm.

Electronic Enclosures

OKW manufacture an extensive range of general purpose enclosures for a very wide range of applications including handheld, desktop, wall/ceiling mounted and plug-in electronics equipment. The comprehensive range includes many unique styles including round, oval and rectangular enclosures that are suitable for industrial, office, medical or home environments. All models provide easy access for the installation of PCBs and the electronic components.

Standard options include screw fixing or snap-together assembly, protection classes up to IP66, battery compartments for AAA, AA and 9V cells, ventilation slots, hidden lid fixing screws for added security, aluminium front panels and an integrated mains plug. Sizes range from 85 x 45 x 22 mm to 360 x 240 x 160 mm.

IP65 Enclosures

A large selection of OKW plastic enclosures can be specified with sealing gaskets to achieve a protection class of IP65. These enclosures have been tested in accordance with the international standards VDE 0470 PART 1, EN 60529 and IEC 529.

DIN Rail Enclosures

OKW’s modular DIN rail enclosures are designed for electronics control equipment and are available in sizes from 1 to 12 modules wide. The enclosures conform to EN 50022 and EN 50035 standards and can be mounted in series on TS35 and TS32 DIN rails. PCBs can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and open sections on either side provide access to the PCB terminal blocks. Snap-on terminal guards provide protection. Different terminal blocks can be accommodated including pitches of 5.0mm and 5.08mm, and single part terminals and plug headers. The range also includes individual DIN rail enclosures, open DIN rail PCB supports and standard enclosures with DIN rail clips.

DIN-BOX Enclosures

OKW DIN-BOX enclosures are designed for panel mounted instrumentation and control equipment. The enclosures conform to DIN IEC 61554 for standard control panel apertures and are available in a wide range of standard frame sizes from 72 x 36 mm to 144 x 144 mm. The enclosures are moulded in tough flame resistant UL 94 V-0 rated Noryl which is suitable for many industrial environments. Internal guide rails provide mounting for slide-in PCBs. Standard options include plastic or aluminium front panels, hinged covers, mounting frames, bars or blocks. Standard sizes range from 72 x 36 x 57 mm to 144 x 144 x 248 mm.

Potting Boxes

OKW manufacture an extensive range of potting boxes for encapsulation of individual electronic components or PCB assemblies. The range is manufactured in three plastic materials Duroplastic (UL 94 V-0) for high temperature applications, polyamide 66 (UL 94 V-2) for shock resistance and ABS (UL 94 HB) for general purpose applications. The ABS models are also suitable for machining. Some models are also available with lids. Sizes range from 12 x 12 x 15 mm to 100 x 100 x 40 mm

Custom Enclosures

OKW offers a comprehensive customising service on all of its standard plastic enclosures. Customers can specify all the modifications they required in order to receive fully finished enclosures with all of the necessary holes and cutouts for mounting the electronic components.

OKW have over 40 years experience in the design and manufacture of tuning knobs and control knobs. Today the company offers a very comprehensive range including traditional styles and innovative modern designs. The latest models combine ergonomic profiles with optional snap-in marking elements for a very contemporary look. OKW also manufactures a range of modern combination knobs with screw or collet fixing for popular spindle sizes. Standard or flush fitting knobs are also available with LED illumination.
