Location:
The role will be based at our offices near Chester. The daily working area will generally be classed as our ‘northern territory’ which covers the area north of the M56, however, requirement for National coverage is common.
Key Roles
To ensure that territory/product sales targets are achieved
To generate appropriate levels of sales activities required to achieve sales targets
To promote an awareness and professional image of M & P Survey Equipment Ltd. and its products
To report on all relevant sales and marketing activities to the Sales Manager
To continually develop attitudes, knowledge and skills required to carry out the role
To work with the company Performance Management policy to achieve personal development
Offer technical support and advice to customers in your territory.
Performance:
To achieve sales target within the profitability guidelines, correct product mix and within the company pricing policy
To prepare and implement marketing and territory plans to ensure regular customer coverage according to an agreed call rate.
To pro-actively generate business opportunities with both existing and new customers in existing and new market segments
To continually update customer records and mailing lists
To support colleagues in other sales areas when requested by the Sales Manager.
Ensure demonstration equipment is kept in a clean condition, it is fully checked when being issued or returned from a customer and appropriate paperwork issued and copied to the relevant sales co-ordinator.
To ensure that each customer receives comprehensive training and is continually supported after the sale.
To complete and send a prospect list to the Sales Manager on a monthly basis. To include information relating to market trends, competitor activities, general sales activity. The status of each prospect must continually be made aware to the Sales Manager either by phone or email.
To maintain a smart and professional image at all times. Ensure company vehicle is kept clean and is maintained in line with the manufacturers specified service intervals.
To fully understand and implement company policies which affect work.
To understand self-development, seeking guidance from Sales Manager as appropriate.
To actively contribute to driving the business forward for M & P by contributing ideas and experiences at all times and in sales meetings
To work with the company performance management policy of self-appraisal and maintain regular review meetings with the Sales Manager.
Qualifications:
Education:
Essential - Higher Education Qualifications
Preferred - Degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering
Experience:
Essential - Knowledge of surveying equipment and requirements of users.
Site Experience as a surveyor or Site Engineer
Very good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Preferred - Proven experience in selling products & services to end-users.
Specific Job Requirements / Skills:
Essential - Understanding of Surveying & Engineering Environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Organised and thorough with good attention to detail.
Confidence to work on own initiative.
Ability to work under pressure
Smart appearance
Full UK Driving Licence free from endorsements
Preferred - Practical experience of the Survey & Engineering Environment
Understanding of technical issues relating to both hardware and software.
Circumstances:
Must be based within the working territory.
Prepared to work flexible hours
Prepared to travel throughout the UK
