nmc(uk)ltd invests £3 million in new distribution centre

As a result of continued growth over the last 5 years, nmc(uk)ltd, one of the country’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of thermal pipe insulation materials, has invested £3 million in a new distribution facility in South Wales.
The company has been manufacturing its Climaflex® polyethylene products at its existing South Wales site for over 20 years and can now benefit with a much larger distribution centre in order to maintain their levels of customer service. Commenting on the move, Managing Director, Trevor Stone said: “The investment will allow us to keep more stock but more importantly it recognises the number of new items that continue to be added to the range”.
With six purpose built loading bays it will ensure better service for our customers.
We are also introducing bar coded scanning systems which will again improve the accuracy and speed of despatch and also the accuracy of picking.
Our entire staff are relocating with the move which should ensure continued product knowledge and customer preferences.
The move will also allow us to encompass an electronic product transfer system rather than the previous road version, this will obviously further cut our co2 emissions.
