"PAT Testing" company springs into action for HSO visit

04 November 2016

When a construction company urgently needed its contractors electrical equipment inspecting and testing in time for an HSO visit at one of their sites, MRB Electrical & PAT Testing were only too pleased to jump in.

Tamworth, Staffordshire based DASC Construction are the main contractors at Pier 5, Chatham Maritime, where a new Flip Out Trampoline Park is due to open shortly. In the meantime, the site was due for a routine inspection from the local HSO.

Site Manager Mark Skilleter called MRB Electrical & PAT Testing and explained that he was having difficulty arranging for the electrical equipment on site to be "PAT Tested" in time for the HSO visit.

MRB Electrical & PAT Testing's Martin Bruce commented:

"It's nice to be able to save the day when someone is up against it. I try to be flexible and suit requirements where possible. In this case Mark called me Wednesday afternoon, i provided a quote which he accepted and i was on site the following evening, finishing off very briefly on Friday morning".

With Trampoline Parks already in Bristol, Chester, Portsmouth, Preston, Sandwell, Southampton, Stoke and Wandsworth, Chatham Maritime will be the nineth for the leading Trampoline Park operator.

DASC Construction's Mark Skilleter commented;

"As Site Manager it is ultimately my responsibility under health & safety, electricity at work and other legislaton, to ensure the safety of my contractors and everyone on site. You can't take chances with peoples lives and i wanted to make sure everything was up to date. I was relieved that MRB Electrical & PAT Testing were able to come out at such short notice. We're on site from 7am until 7pm so Martin was able to work round us with minimal downtime. With only an ageing extension cable failing it was good to know that our electrical equipment is safe for continued use and our health & safety file is bang up to date".
