H.E. Services Unleashes The Jcb Hydradig At Open Day

04 January 2019

H.E. SERVICES welcomed over 1000 customers to their interactive family fun digger event, over this last weekend and treated them all to a display of the new JCB Hydradig.

Saturday 25th June 2016 saw crowds of over 1000 enjoy the action packed evening hosted by H.E. SERVICES (PLANT HIRE) Ltd who invited all their customers and their families to share in the celebrations as the company welcomed 50 of the construction industry’s hottest new machines to their fleet, The JCB Hydradig.

Live music and the smell of fresh BBQ filled the air as Diggerland in Kent welcomed customers from across the country. Their excited children lost no time in making their way eagerly to the rides and attractions. The UK’s only digger adventure theme park played host to a range of activities throughout the evening. Electric supercar rental company EVision showcased its latest driverless TESLA vehicles, Masterhitch presenting their latest innovations including telehandler attachment ‘Skippy’ and specialist excavator attachment the ‘Master Claw’.

Known for hosting innovative and entertaining open days, H.E. SERVICES (PLANT HIRE) Ltd didn’t disappoint with the return of the operator challenges. The Champagne Challenge saw operators take on the tricky task of picking up a bottle of champagne and pouring themselves a glass, using only a JCB 3CX. Two operators who held the fastest times were brought back for the grand final in the Event Arena where they had to repeat the task but this time, open the bottle as well.

If the nerves of smashing a bottle were too much, competitors could take on ‘The Egg and Spoon’ challenge, in which they picked up an egg and placed it in an egg cup using a Komatsu PC80. Many were left with egg on their face as their dreams of winning, cracked in front of their very eyes. The strongest of the crowd were invited to pit their strength against a skidsteer in a feat of strength that wowed the crowd, 14 competitors took victory over the machine by pulling it past the halfway mark in under 3 minutes. The bravest went head to head in ‘Digger Wars’ eagerly trying to tip their opponent over before the three minute countdown expired!

A surprise stunt by H.E. SERVICES’ Chairman Hugh Edeleanu, saw the entrepreneur hang from a 14-ton excavator as it swung him around, holding on only with his teeth, a feat which customers were well advised never to try at home.

Pam Durey, Director of sales and marketing said “It’s events like this that highlight H.E. SERVICES’ dedication to its customers, suppliers and friends, we are always grateful for their continued support and this is one way of saying thank you, as H.E. grows into the future we remain resolute that the customer will always come first, no matter what”.
