Blue Diamond End Caps provide the finishing touch

Blue Diamond is realising an increase in demand for custom made ends caps to enhance the finish and value of a wide range of products. They can also prevent the ingress of dirt or dust and, in the example of furniture legs, spread the load and prevent damage to flooring.
Blue Diamond has many years’ experience manufacturing such products and recognises the need for end caps to be low cost, quick and easy to fit, attractive and durable. Although there are ranges of standard end caps available, most customers recognise the benefit of having them specially made so as not to compromise the design of the overall item. Blue Diamond can manufacture end caps in a range of materials including any plastic, rubber, polished metals or alloys to provide a contrasting or a near seamless match to existing finishes. Caps can be threaded or push-fit and, with careful design, it is often possible to produce a universal component that will meet a range of applications – reducing costs and inventory.
Examples include caps and finishers for home and office furniture, access covers, hollow extrusions and piping. Products can be produced in a range of colours to match or tone with the finished item or they can be supplied ready for finishing by the customer. Branding, company logos and identification part numbers can be added and products packaged ready for delivery as required.
When the product requirements have been agreed with the customer, Blue Diamond will handle the complete production process including design and prototyping, and the manufacture of low cost tooling. Autodesk Inventor software is used for 3D mechanical design, product simulation, tooling creation, and design communication. This powerful software package helps improve product design, reduce development costs, and minimise development times.
Rapid prototyping results in a physical prototype that can be used to check fit, function, ergonomics and aesthetics. This allows the customer to make detailed adjustments before finalising the design.

As part of its rigorous quality appraisal, all suppliers have been thoroughly vetted to ensure they invest in the most modern machinery and can meet the stringent quality standards to ensure components are delivered in the right material, to the right specification, at the right time. And, because Blue Diamond is able to ship in bulk, shipping costs are minimised providing further savings for the customer. Stockholding facilities are available and Kanban and JIT delivery can also be accommodated.
