With the energy crisis in full force, there is huge demand in the UK for highly insulated housing to allow maximum savings on our energy bills. Due to the limited thermal efficiency of timber, the timber external door has fallen far behind building requirements and customers’ expectations for energy saving.Meanwhile contemporary external doors, such as aluminium doors, which meet building regulations have been outside of the price range for many. At Modern Doors, we can now proudly introduce an affordable solution which are not only visually stunning, where the only previous solutions of upvc and composite doors so often fail, we can now offer them within the same price bracket.
Put simply, our metal front doors are comparable in cost to standard pre-hung, pre-finished timber door sets, however they far exceed building regulations for u-value requirements (Part L) and even beat their upvc and composite
counterparts – offering u-values as low as 1.0-1.2W/m2K! Our doors are 68mm thick, factory triple glazed, include secure hook locking system, door bolts and security escutcheons as standard. A wide range of colours are available including the popular metallic dark grey, light Oak or Walnut, as well as a range of glass types including tinted or even reflective triple glazing. All our door sets can be produced with sidelights and top-light to create that grand entrance feel.
