Carlton celebrates diamond anniversary

In 2008, Carlton is celebrating its 60th birthday. As the Grand Dame of the beauty industry, The Carlton Group has seen many changes but their ethos still remains the same.

The family based company has always put caring for their customers at the top of the agenda.

Whilst looking for information on the company, some fantastic hand written scribbles from former owner, Rod Fabes, came to light, including a slogan written by his then wife and now Chairman of The Carlton Group, Angela Barbagelata-Fabes.  The slogan says, “If it doesn’t reach Carlton Professional standards, it doesn’t reach our customers.”  This steadfast appreciation of their customers has formed the mainstay of Carlton’s activity for the last sixty years and has, undoubtedly been key to its success.

The company’s involvement in the beauty industry began because of their good working relationships with colleges.  Relationships which are still a big part of Carlton’s day to day business and which led to the creation of their new student electrotherapy competition, SEBTA, in 2007.

In 2008, The Carlton Group continues to offer colleges, salons and spas the security of quality British made electrotherapy machines and furniture but the range now includes over 20 electrotherapy machines, 16 couches as well as a plethora of furniture and accessories. 

Nor is the Carlton Professional brand restricted to the UK, whilst Carlton Professional has been available in Hong Kong for 15 years, Carlton now has more than 20 worldwide distributors in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, The Seychelles and even Mauritius.

Tracing Carlton’s 60-year history, one thing is certain, whatever the future holds for Carlton, it will certainly be interesting!
