Endress+Hauser Liquiphant is the original and still the best!

19 November 2009

With the launch of Liquiphant in 1983, Endress+Hauser became inventors of the world’s first vibrating level switch for accurate limit detection and point level measurement of liquids.

This reliable and cost-effective measurement method proved to be a winner and, by the year 2000, more than 1 million units had been sold.

Liquiphant M has a patented piezo drive, offering improved immunity to both foam and plant vibration. Its ¾" process connection makes it ideal for applications where space is at a premium e.g. empty pipe detection and it can be mounted in any position for maximum versatility! Liquiphant M is maintenance-free and operation is unaffected by flow, turbulence, air bubbles or build-up, making it the perfect choice for a wide range of applications - it is particularly suitable as a direct replacement for float switches.

Ideal for the food and pharmaceutical industries, Liquiphant M offers EHEDG and 3-A certification. With a polished fork and easy-to-clean hygienic process connections, it provides high or low level alarms in a wide range of processes from whiskey distilling to sauce production. The chemical and petrochemical industries expect ATEX EEx ia and EEx d as a minimum. Liquiphant M has lower power consumption and so conforms to the NAMUR industry standard. Its new integral function check means that Liquiphant can be remotely tested without being removed from the process.

More than just a level switch, Liquiphant M complies with the requirements of IEC 61508, returning figures that typically fall within the SIL2/3 rating. This makes it the perfect choice for inclusion as part of Safety Instrumented Systems. What’s more, with Liquiphant’s unique fork corrosion monitoring system, you can be certain that if there’s a problem, it will raise the alarm to ensure consistent measurement integrity and product quality.
