Wybone Go On Tour March 14, 2024

14 March 2024

In February, our Sales Manager of the South, Mark Hollinsworth, took part in a solo trip – a tour across the South of England with nothing but a truck and some of our finest litter and recycling bins. It would be the first major Wybone roadshow of 2024 and a successful one at that!

We thought, instead of the usual Zoom call, meeting or visit to Wybone HQ, why don’t we come to you in a memorable, practical way? Mark’s roadshow began on Monday the 19th of February, and for the next 13 days, he would be busy visiting 26 destinations.

What did he take?
Other than himself and some comfortable driving shoes, he took a range of products, some preselected by customers he would be visiting during his journey, and others that are highly regarded at Wybone and beyond. Here’s a list of the products that accompanied Mark during his roadshow:

Mr. Fill
MLB/112 Eco
FWWB
FWB/112
WTS/8 Double Iroko Wood Litter & Recycling Bin
RLA/6 Double Timber Fronted Litter & Recycling Bin
Compass Litter Bin
Double Never Rust Recycling Bin

What did he take?
Mark saw nearly every corner of the South during his roadshow. Here’s the list of the places he visited and when he visited them:

Bracknell Forest, Fareham and Havant (Monday 19th February)
Hampton Court Palace (Tuesday 20th February)
Barnet and Camden (Wednesday 21st February)
Bromley (Thursday 22nd February)
Medway, Dartford and Gravesham (Friday 23rd February)
Hillingdon, Brentford and Ealing (Monday 26th February)
Worthing and Brighton (Tuesday 27th February)
Exeter and Torbay (Wednesday 28th February)
Plymouth and South Gloucestershire (Thursday 29th February)
Bath and Slough (Friday 1st March)
Sevenoaks and Crawley (Monday 4th March)
Luton (Tuesday 5th March)
Lewisham, Newham and Basildon (Wednesday 6th March)

How did it go?
Overall, Mark’s feedback has been really positive and we couldn’t be happier for him: “Overall, I would insist that the roadshow was a success. There were a great number of attendees and enquiries generated with no cancellations.”

There was large interest across all our ranges, especially our food waste bins – a hot topic at the moment. The spacious truck acted as a home for 12 of our products, with fake grass underneath to add some extra oomph to our display. Customers entered through the side, and the slide-open door provided ease of access with plenty of room and visibility of our units inside. Each bin and flower planter was securely fastened down to prevent any unfortunate mishaps during Mark’s travels.

Why do we do roadshows?
We’re always happy to have customers visit us at Wybone HQ, or to visit them directly with product demonstrations. But our roadshows allow us to kill two birds with one stone, enabling us to take a range of products and efficiently showcase them to a pool of existing and prospective customers during our travels. It’s also something different – we never pass up an opportunity to stand out from the crowd at Wybone.

What’s more, with customers we schedule to visit, they usually have a good idea of what units they’re looking for. But taking additional products can make them think, “in fact, we’ve also been looking at this sort of product. Can you tell me more about it?”

Killing two birds with one stone!

When is our next roadshow?
Mark will be on the road again later this year, just before summer. He’ll be visiting other areas in the South – exact locations and the products that will be accompanying him will be announced on our social media pages soon.

But where demand is high, we’re happy to accommodate. If you’re interested in joining the roadshow calendar, you can let our sales team know.
