Ultracrete’s Permanent Pothole Repair breathes life back into school playground

02 July 2012

Instarmac, home to the Ultracrete brand, has recently donated some of its Permanent Pothole Repair material to Iveson Primary School in Leeds, to help rejuvenate one of its playgrounds.

The playground had  been condemned for 4 years due to its poor state of repair and the lack of school funding with which to improve it. The school’s Parents and Teachers Association carried out some fundraising which has paid for the provision of some raised flower beds and outdoor seating at the end of the playground.

The playground was also suffering from minor surface defects including cracking and potholes. Richard Bowes, the Environment Manager for Iveson Primary School, contacted Ultracrete to see if they could help with some of their renowned Permanent Pothole Repair.

Ultracrete’s Area Sales Manager, Rory Ashcroft, attended the school to deliver the tubs of repair material along with some cans of Ultracrete SCJ bitumen cold joint sealer and tack coat spray. Richard Bowes commented “We are delighted with this contribution which will help to enhance and safeguard our outdoor play facilities.”

Ultracrete Permanent Pothole Repair, HAPAS approved by the BBA, is the ideal solution for repairs to playgrounds, car parks, driveways and paths. Easy to use, simply pour into the affected area and tamp down – it can be walked on or driven over immediately; great for environments where a quick turnaround is required, such as schools, supermarkets and busy thoroughfares. The material has a high polished stone value of 60> and will not wear easily – ideal for areas subjected to heavy scuffing like the playground! Used with Ultracrete SCJ Seal and Tack Coat, it provides a permanent repair.

Permanent Pothole Repair is available in 25kg re-sealable tubs, thus eliminating any wastage and can be stored for up to 6 months from the date of manufacture. It is a repair material that will stand the test of time; a welcome long term maintenance solution, as budgets continue to tighten not just in the education sector but across the board.

The improvements will mean the playground will soon be reopened and enjoyed by its pupils.
