19 September 2012

Two-Way Radio specialists, Wall to Wall Communications, have once again provided digital communication systems at this years Notting Hill Carnival.

Wall to Wall Radio Communications recently supplied radio communication coverage for the Notting Hill Carnival. At the planning stages last year, they were requested to supply a bespoke system, ensuring full coverage and the health & safety and security of the increased footfall.

Digital Radio equipment was trialled and subsequently supplied. Using Repeater base stations and trigger bases, along with Hytera PD705 hand portable unit and Hytera PD785 display radios, managers and stewards were able to communicate with clarity, exceeding the standards of analogue equipment.

With noise cancelling built into the two-way radios, users found it much easier to hear their controllers and communicate with them.

Providing entertainment to thousands for more than 40 years during the August bank holiday weekend, the Notting Hill Carnival is one of the biggest street parades in Europe. Originally celebrating the abolition of slavery among Afro-Caribbeans, the cultural event now celebrates partying fun with music, food and drink, with each year providing a challenge for residents, publicans, retailers and the police.
