Coiled wire comes clean with Coilblast®

The Coilblast® descaling system from Wheelabrator® removes mill and heat treat scale
Wheelabrators’ Coilblast is used to remove mill and heat treat scale as well as other surface contaminants of wire in coil form. Typical applications include fastener and spring manufacturing however steel companies and wire suppliers are just some of those that would benefit from the Coilblast to maximise their cleaning and finishing requirements.Coilblast is a totally enclosed system, the main features of which include double or swing door configuration, fold-in oscillating mandrel and as a pit-less design - convenient for ground level installations. Long wheel life, effective cleaning and low cycle times are also achieved through various wheel configurations with EZEFIT® blast wheel technology.
The single or double swing door incorporates a space-saving design which also simplifies material handling. The articulating mandrel arm with special lifters is designed to fold within the profile of the cabinet door, providing easy access for smooth material transfers. Clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation of the mandrel and lifters also provides continuous separation of the wire coils, for maximum blast coverage. Mandrels are available in 3m, 4m and 4.5m lengths, each driven by a direct motor and controlled by a variable frequency inverter for oscillation control.
Other advantages of Coilblast include no uncoiling of the wire for processing, easy product handling, short processing times, and ground level operation with no pit or basement required. Coilblast is a highly-sustainable, highly-productive, machine ultimately contributing to relatively low maintenance costs for customers.
