Vulcascot helps prevent construction site slip-ups

06 March 2009

Following 1925 construction site investigations by the Health & Safety Executive, trip and slipping hazards were found to be among the biggest causes of major injuries.

In fact, officers served nearly 70 enforcement notices during the year-long investigations, concluding that construction site hazards are not to be taken lightly.

Large power cables and unprotected piping can easily be tripped over by unsuspecting workers, or damaged by heavy-duty site vehicles, when left semi buried in mud and randomly discarded building materials.

The choice of heavy-duty cable protector for use in such arduous conditions depends on cable dimensions, but whatever section is chosen, it will combine great material strength with maximum flexibility.

The Vulcascot Industrial range has an outstanding reputation for delivering very large and practically indestructible cable protectors generally on a next day delivery.

The new, giant H Section has recently been added to the Vulcascot  heavy-duty Industrial range of cable protectors and will carry 2 x 27mm diameter cables in complete safety.

Along with existing profiles in the Industrial range, the new Section H   has many  added safety features such as free from Halogens and Fire retardant to BS 476 Part 7 Class 3 and its European counter part, and is also electrically non conductive to BS 903-C5 500v.
