Weiss Gallenkamp celebrate sale of200th Fingerprint Development Chamber.

05 October 2007

Weiss Gallenkamp recently celebreated the sale of our 200th Fingerprint Development Chamber.

Operating in such a niche market, this represents a superb landmark in sales of the FDC range. The 200th Fingerprint Development Chamber sold was the free-standing FDC 060, and it was purchased by the Special Anti-Crime Unit of Trinidad & Tobago.

The SAUTT is an FBI style agency who work alongside the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service, and the FDC 060 will be used in the detection of fingerprints in just three minutes, compared to a minimum 10 minutes and often much longer using more traditional methods. Fingerprints can be detected with greater speed and higher throughput, with astonishing clarity using the FDC range. The effective improvements over traditional methods of latent fingerprint detection on porous materials are achieved by optimising and accurately controlling the conditions under which exhibits are developed.

The FDC range features two models, the FDC 018 which is a bench top unit with a 0.65m2 sample storage area (see below), and the FDC 060 which is a floor standing unit with an increased capacity of 2.1m2. Julie Chinn, Weiss Gallenkamp's Export Sales Specialist commented: "It is a fantastic achievement to have sold 200 FDC's, and it was interesting the the 200th unit was sold to such an exotic location, which shows the global presence we have developed. As well as our UK customer base, we have also completed sales to India, Pakistan etc etc. The feedback I have had from SAUTT has been very positive, and the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service have viewed the chamber in action and expressed an interest in purchasing several for themselves."
