Phil presented for Carr's at the EPIC Battery conference, Laser applications along Battery Manufacturing Process at ARENA 2036.
Phil explained to the conference about Soni_Laser, where Carr's have teamed up with Brunel (BIC) to investigate a dissimilar metal weld with the assistance of Ultra-Sound.Thanks to Innovate Uk, we ran an 18-month program for welding battery connections. With great success, Carr's showed that Contactless PUVT (ultra-Sonic treatment) can be applied to battery connections, with increased strength, longer extension before fracture, reduced impedance, and reduce IMCs in the fusion zone.
