Another first for Status Instruments

26 March 2008

Status have introduced their range of cost effective USB programmable devices within their SEM1600 family of transmitters.

These are the first of a new generation of products from Status which will all feature the new USB interface for super quick user programming. Because the product is powered via the USB port during programming, you don’t even have to wire it up to configure it; simply plug in the USB cable.

The SEM1600 series comes in 3 versions all with universal inputs with a choice of current, voltage or twin isolated trip outputs. The unique USB capability, together with Status’s configuration software and internal menu options, allows the user to carry out a simple, yet comprehensive set up routine for the transmitters.

The free configuration software will read the product part number and its configuration automatically. To change the configuration just takes seconds; simply type in the configuration you want and click the download Icon.

Given the number of variations in sensor types and temperature ranges, stock holding can be a nightmare. However, the universal input and USB versatility of these latest Status units allows one unit to meet the majority of requirements and, saves the user a significant amount of set up time. The transmitters can be preset to failsafe in either Hi or Lo mode in the event of a sensor burn out. If required, transmitters can easily be reset to factory default settings.

Status’s proprietary galvanic isolation comes as standard on all units as well as the drift-free digital linearisation. The unprecedented 10 year warranty endorses the company’s total customer commitment.
