Occupational Health services are not only about health and safety at work. They embrace the social, mental and physical well-being of employees at work and leisure. It is also a strong sign of commitment by the employer to the employees indicating their concern for the health and well-being of their work force and their working conditions.
Occupational Health conveys different messages to different people. For some, it may mean simply ensuring people are fit for the job that they are employed to do, the adaptation of work to the capabilities of the worker, or providing health and safety education and health promotion.
An Occupational Health service can help to combat some health inequalities. It can also boost local economic development by reducing sickness absence and help people to stay healthy and working.
Undertaking regular health checks and advising on work-related health issues, which affect us all, is part and parcel of Albacare's completely confidential Occupational Health service.

Buying a defibrillator is one of the best things that any organisation can do.
When someone has a cardiac arrest there is an average of 3-5% chance of survival (across the whole of Europe about 6% in the UK).
There are 2 things that can make a difference:
- High Quality Minimally Interrupted Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Early Defibrillation
So if you can get someone doing CPR and get the casualty defibrillated then what is the chance of survival?
It could be as much as 74% (given the casualty having been in Cardiac Arrest for 3 minutes. You could be looking at a higher chance of survival if the casualty is defibrillated earlier)
The estimation is that the chances of surviving can drop by as much as 10-14% per minute.
The difference between surviving and not is Early CPR & Early Defibrillation followed by Early Hospital Care.
We at Albacare are distributors for a number of different defibrillators.
