Non-Fragile Rooflights

25 April 2008

When the Georgian wired glass on this rooflight failed it was replaced with Twinfix Non-Fragile Multi-Link-Panels.

Glazed with virtually unbreakable multiwall polycarbonate these modular panels act like double glazing, helping keep the space below warm and draught-free during cold weather.  The school involved requested opening vents to let in fresh air during summer months.  They were delighted with their new rooflights, fitted in a matter of days during a school holiday period.

Twinfix always recommend their Non-Fragile rooflights for use in situations where there is a possibility of anyone gaining access to the roof area, as they help to prevent accidental, and sometimes fatal, falls through the glazing.  The Twinfix Multi-Link-Panel NF (Non-Fragile) passes the Health & Safety Executive's recommended drop test, ACR[M]001:200 Test for Fragility of Roofing Assemblies, with a 'B' rating.  The 'B' rating indicates that the panels showed minimal damage after several drop tests.

Modular Multi-Link-Panels are manufactured to size for individual projects and, due to their unique 'fix and link' bar system, are extremely quick and easy to install.  Different tints of multiwall glazing are available and the frames can be powder coated to most BS colours.
