Vandex waterproofing Safeguards potable water

15 January 2009

Waterproofing coatings for drinking water structures need to meet high standards to ensure that they do not adversely affect the quality of the drinking water (also known as potable water).

A number of products from the Vandex range have been approved by the DWI / WRAS for use on drinking water structures, including the best-selling Vandex BB75 and Vandex Super waterproofing slurries.

A new brochure is now available describing how Vandex products can be used to waterproof drinking water structures such as reservoirs and water storage tanks. The repair and refurbishment of existing facilities is also covered. The brochure includes photographs illustrating the waterproofing of a typical underground service reservoir.

As well as showing which products carry DWI and WRAS approval, the brochure also refers to international approvals such as the German DVGW and American NSF schemes.

Vandex products achieved their first drinking water approval in 1965. Since this time they have been used extensively in drinking water structures around the world. Case studies are available highlighting specific applications including water towers, water treatment plants, and reservoirs.

Vandex products are distributed in the UK by Safeguard Europe Ltd.
