Hello and the team at Tablet Rentals hope this finds you well; feeling positive as we start to come out of lockdown, but also feeling excited at the prospect of various live events this Summer finally taking place and months of planning finally come to fruition.
We are certainly looking forward to assisting our clients and one of our first big events takes place in Edinburgh in a couple of weeks, which will be fantastic.
So as we prepare for a summer of events, we thought we would give you an update on the Apple event which took place last month and would provide a synopsis of the main features.
There were no real surprises and for Tablet Rentals the main announcements were: a new 24’ iMac, an updated 12.9 iPad Pro and a new (colour) iPhone 12 – now in err…purple.
As we have highlighted in previous blogs, Apple certainly seem to be moving towards having all of their devices eventually running on their super-fast M1 chips and last month’s event was a step along that road.
The latest iPad 12.9 Pro running on the M1 chip is the main feature, allowing powerful processing whilst maintaining its look, feel and efficient design. There is an ultra-wide camera, but the camera is still 12MP although it has an 8-core GPU which gives around 40% enhanced graphics.
In addition, there is a liquid retina display which will be superb for those users who watch / edit videos and photos, so an enhanced experience for all you Filmic Pro disciples! Joining a host of Apple devices the cellular version of the iPad 12.9 Pro will now run on 5G networks.
Similar to the new iPad Pro, the iMac has also been enhanced to run on the M1 chip which will comfortably make this the best iMac Apple has produced to date. It will be available as a 24’ so a change in screen size, but now (and for the first time), the iMac will be available in 7 different colours so you can install a funky new iMac into your work-space. One thing our team do like is the fact that the new iMac weighs less than 5kgs, which users with current iMacs will know is a significant reduction and this alone should increase popularity.
As highlighted, there were no surprises in this Apple event, but both of these featured devices are moving towards being part of Apple’s super quick, super-slick and possibly a super-pick device for any of your forthcoming event requirements as they are released later this month.
