Jubilee sees HoF sales rise 25%

As a result of the Queens'' Diamond Jubilee, HoF Display Solutions have seen their sales increase by 25% compared with the same period last year.

This Cambridgeshire based company have seen sales of bunting alone increase by almost £200k compared with the same period last year. Bunting has been bought by a variety of companies from large retail stores across the UK to companies dressing the river for the Thames River Pageant and even individuals hosting small street parties. A massive 650 miles of bunting has been produced to meet demand − that amount would stretch from Lands’ End to Inverness.

The company’s National Sales Manager, Sandra Anley, is delighted with the increased demand, “We have made an incredible amount of bunting as well as Union Jack and Jubilee flags. There has been a real buzz around the factory and offices with everyone in the Sales team adopting a ‘can do’ approach by starting earlier each day and finishing later to handle all of the enquiries.”

HoF Display Solutions has been running for over 30 years and started as a flag making company in Eaton Socon, St Neots. It’s safe to say that flags are their area of expertise. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that the company has been chosen to produce flags for eleven of the bridges along the River Thames for the pageant event, as well as dressing buildings along the pageant path.

Many of these companies have already commissioned HoF Display Solutions to re-dress the bridges and buildings in preparation for the Olympics in July.

The influx of work has meant that the machinists and print management team have had to work longer days as well as weekends to meet the demand. Planning for this period started as far back as December 2011 as Donna Geranio (MD) explains;

“In December last year we started discussions about annual leave and where, if possible, holidays could be taken after the end of May. The good thing about having a fantastic, loyal team of operational staff is that they have pulled out all of the stops to fulfill our customers’ requirements.”

Ian Simmonds, Chairman of HoF Display Solutions, feels that this is a great time for everyone − not just the company;

“The Diamond Jubilee is proving to be such an important time for HoF Display Solutions as well as the country in general. We have all been through a tough time recently and the Jubilee celebrations seem to be helping to create a positive feel good factor.”

After such a long period in recession followed by the recent double-dip announcement, it’s fantastic to hear some good news. It’s important that we look at the positives in day to day life and have something to feel proud about.

“We are proud to have been able to supply so many products to help with the celebrations and to be associated with all levels of the Diamond Jubilee.” Ian Simmonds.
