Svantek gallops ahead with its 971 and 977 sound and vibration meters

A number of its most innovative and successful noise and vibration monitoring instruments will be proudly presented in the Spring 2013

For a start, Svantek’s power-packed SVAN 971 Sound Level Meter and Analyser bears out the saying that ‘small is beautiful’, time after time.

This handy, lightweight, Class 1 instrument is an up-to-the-minute pocket-sized demon, offering advanced characteristics such as audio event recording, detachable pre-amp & microphone, a dosimeter function and a vast time/history logging capability.

Conforming to IEC 61672-1 standard, the 971 is perfect for industrial hygiene, short period environmental, and general acoustic noise measurement. It provides broadband results with all required weighting filters, as well as 1/1 octave & 1/3 octave analysis.  It has a high-contrast colour OLED-type display and can be successfully operated in a wide range of temperatures and environments.

Also available for inspection at Sandown will be the SVAN 977, the next generation of Type 1 sound and vibration instruments, which boasts exceptional features, such as the ability to record results in three acoustic or vibration profiles, so that measurements can be performed with three separate filters and three distinct detector time constants.

Extremely lightweight and equally robust, the finely-tuned 977 is simple to use to measure and analyse both sound and vibration and works equally effectively in workplace health and safety and/or environmental monitoring.

Like the 971, the 977 provides broadband results with all the standard weighting filters and offers an incredible time/history logging capability. Boasting a MicroSD card that gives almost unlimited logging capacity, a Bluetooth interface, a Smartphone application that extends its measurement capabilities and a selection of remote methods of communication such as GPRS, Ethernet, WLAN or ZigBee™, the 977 packs a huge punch for its size and price tag.
