YPS have a cracking solution for shrink wrapping eggs!

Yorkshire Packaging Systems, the leading supplier of shrink wrapping machinery and shrink film in the UK are proud to announce their latest installation of an inline sleeve wrapper and shrink tunnel at The Lakes Free Range Egg Company, Penrith.

The Lakes Free Range Egg Company, like YPS, are a long established family run business. Their area of business is a high quality supplier of eggs to the leading supermarkets in the UK. Their aim is “to profitably supply free range eggs to the highest quality, animal welfare, environmental and ethical production standards”. The environmental benefits of shrink wrapping over other alternative methods of packaging, such as boxes, made this their preferred method of packaging for the transit of their eggs. Shrink wrapping is more environmentally friendly as less packaging is used and what is used is 100% recyclable.

Following success with their two existing YPS shrink wrap machines they looked no further than YPS again when their increases in production required an additional shrink wrapping line. The machinery which was supplied was a SVAL 60x35 Inline Sleeve Sealer and TR65/150 Shrink Tunnel. A double chamber shrink tunnel was required in order to cope with the output speeds required and the size of the packs.

The benefits to The Lakes Free Range Egg Company are a significant increase in production and productivity, common spare parts across all shrink wrapping lines and reliable back up and support from YPS.
