New D6X combined thermal fuse / resistor
The new SEFUSE D6X offers a new concept in thermal fuse technology. By combining a thermal fuse element and resistor on a single substrate, NEC has created a fast-acting ultimate protection device for high power DC applications upto 12A/32VDC.
The new SEFUSE D6X offers a new concept in thermal fuse technology. By combining a thermal fuse element and resistor on a single substrate, NEC has created a fast-acting ultimate protection device for high power DC applications upto 12A/32VDC. The D6X works on two principles. Firstly it operates like a conventional thermal fuse which will open when the local ambient temperature reaches the fuses operating temperature. Secondly it responds to an over-current signal from a monitoring circuit which self-heats the resistor thus opening the adjacent fuse. The D6X was designed to fit neatly in the space between adjacent MOSFETS thus improving response time and minimising board space required.
