Wilson Access Spider Lifts Make Their Debut Performances

Two of the most recent additions to the Wilson Access fleet made their debut performances at a £53 million office development in Northampton.

Glassolutions, the UK’s largest processor, distributor, installer and repairing of glass and glazing systems, hired two Wilson Access Hinowa 17.75 Lightlift tracked spider lifts for installation of glazing on the façade of Project Angel − a new development being built for Northampton County Council.

Ryan Crawford, Glassolutions Site Manager, said: “The Wilson Access spider lifts were ideal as their rubber tracks and weight distribution spreader pads ensured that the spider lifts did not cause any damage to the external granite paving.

“Their working height of 17.75m gave our four-man team easy access to all areas of the building’s facade to install. 78 glazed panels, with some areas being particularly tricky to reach due to a 3m metal canopy.”

The Wilson Access Hinowa 17.75 Lightlift is a lightweight, compact and versatile spider lift. It has a working height of 17.06m, a horizontal outreach of 7.5m and its bi-energy operation makes it ideal for both indoor or outdoor use.
