Bryan''s Salads Case Study

Specialist salad producers Bryan’s Salads, based in Lancashire needed a big solution to help them meet their expanding needs. The family owned business grows & supplies pre-packed salad and vegetables for both the retail and food service sector.

Their existing water supply was pumped around the site from a 45,000L rubber lined, circular, metal tank, which took up much needed space in the raw material fridges.

Precolor’s experienced staff soon came up with the solution for Bryan’s Salads needs, a large one piece, water storage tank. The 90,000 litre tank was a 100mm Pre-insulated tank constructed entirely of GRP with all external supports & ‘HCFC’ & ‘CFC’ free insulation foam encapsulated in the final laminate.

The internal dimensions of the tank :-
13000 x 2500 x 2000mm (l/w/h).

A WRAS Approved tank was essential to ensure compliance with the necessary BRC Global Standards. Precolor has the largest range of WRAS approved one piece tanks available in the UK.

Bryan’s salads wanted at least 60-70 cubic meters to be able to have the capacity to run 6 lines using 1500L for a Pre-wash and 3000L for a main wash. In addition they wanted extra capacity to extend these lines to cope with their future growth. They also wanted to site the new water tank outside, so it was not in the way of their future development plans.
