Lucas Laser Castle
the New Self-Assembly, Optical Table Enclosure
The Lucas Laser Castle is the New, Fully Enclosed Optical Table Laser Safety System which is easily fitted by the customer from the supplied flatpack. Lucas is a fully certified laser safety cabin, in miniature, that comprises of two main units that slide one inside the other. Internal height from the table to the roof is 600mm. Once locked in position with the magnetically attached end panels, the interlocked enclosure is ready to go. The two main units that slide back and forth are mounted on rails that are located on the extreme edges of the optical table minimising the amount of space that is taken up.
Lasermet’s ICS Interlock® Controller ensures that the laser cannot be fired until the units are locked in their positions and the end panels are magnetically attached therefore ensuing the safety of the surrounding personnel. When the system is armed the LED Warning sign changes from green “No Hazard - Laser Off” to red “Danger Laser On”.
Preventing physical harm, especially to the eyes, is, of course, essential in labs and this is an ideal way of preventing the escape of laser radiation - whether is it low power or Class 4. To be able to fully enclose the optical table and still have easy, unfettered access to the laser and table top components, is an ideal
situation for engineers.
For longer optical tables the Lucas system can simply be doubled so that there are total of four units that can be slid back and forth - all interlocked.
To build the enclosure just attach the rails, unfold the sliding units and place on the rails, plug in the controller and place the end panels in position.
The fully enclosed optical table, laser guarding system becomes a Class 1 Enclosure for Class 4 Lasers - CE Certified to BS EN IEC 60825-1 and ANSI Z136.1
