Architects, specifiers and planners can now use the new in-house product configurator tool by LAMILUX to configure daylight systems themselves. The configurator allows the user to immediately have access to download specific product data sheets, drawings, CAD data and BIM models.

How does the configurator work? The user is guided through a self-explanatory and dynamically adapting process to configure specific variants of a skylight. A live 3D product viewer alongside details of technical values show a visual representation of the chosen selection to ensure that the configured product meets the customers’ expectations. Simultaneously background plausibility checks are automated to ensure that requested variants are technically available.

Once the skylight is configured as desired, the product data for the generated variant can be downloaded: BIM data, 2D and 3D CAD data, images, dimensional drawings and data sheets are all available − in a variety of selectable file formats. Highlight for conventional planners Those who do not plan in BIM benefit from the PDF data sheet created in the product configurator. This contains the complete description of the configured skylight including all technical properties as well as a dimensional drawing and a link back to the configuration. In an active 3D model, the user can rotate, cut or zoom the skylight model without CD software and whilst offline.

The PDF data sheet is the comprehensive all-in-one document for the desired variant of LAMILUX daylight systems. The planner can save his configuration via a link, share it, and retrieve and edit it at any time. Once satisfied with the skylight, a quotation request or personal technical advice can be requested with just one click. Highlight for BIM planners A BIM planner can also use all of these functions. However , in addition, plug-ins allow configuration of the daylight systems directly from the BIM programs Revit, ArchiCAD or Allplan, to place them in the building and to modify them directly in these programs as they progress.
