BPS Crowthorne Moves Toward a Greener Future

BPS Crowthorne executive gains coveted Green Labs Ambassador certification.

Green Lab certification moves BPS Crowthorne to improve their environmental impact standards

Mark O’Dwyer, Sales Manager at BPS Crowthorne, recently achieved Green Lab Certification, making him a Green Lab Ambassador which, in turn, is driving an initiative for improved environmental impact processes. Green Labs is an initiative to radically change food production processes, however, they are also partnered with scientific institutions such as FabLab to additionally improve the environmental impact and carbon footprint of pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

In order to achieve the Green Lab Ambassador status, you need pass a set of exams, demonstrating an understanding of environmental impacts, policies and the processes that can be implemented to provide sustainable and practical improvements for organisations, personnel and the environment to meet increasing requirements of legislative regulations. As an ambassador, Mark regularly attends meetings with other professional bodies to innovate and showcase improvements within their companies, to create a knowledge bank that will facilitate ongoing improvements and drive commitment to ensure an understanding of environmental impact of our actions on not just nature, but within the workplace too.

How BPS Crowthorne moves forward with improving companies’ environmental standards

At BPS Crowthorne we are using the Green Lab ambassador certification to put greener practices into action. In the short term, we are reducing our paper usage, moving to recyclable packaging and learning from fellow companies following this initiative, about more ways we can improve and implement practices to improve our environmental impact and sustainability policies.

BPS Crowthorne will also be putting into the practice the improvement of environmental impact standards across the services we offer with a view to enabling our customers to benefit too by helping them meet their own environmental impact and sustainability goals. For example, through the cleanroom, containment facility and clean air environment servicing and validation services, we will be using the Green Lab validation to improve your equipment’s environmental impact footprint. The service offerings that BPS Crowthorne can provide, will help ready your company further toward future environmental legislation, by enabling proactive compliance measures ahead of time. The improvements that can be implemented into your processes now, will reduce the costs of future legislation that all companies in the sector will have to move towards. The pre-filters, HEPA and carbon filters BPS Crowthorne use aim to increase the level of energy efficiency which helps reduce the carbon footprint from the machinery, and creates a safer environment for employees.

Looking To The Future

In the future, Biopharma Group, of which BPS Crowthorne is a division, wants to manage our carbon footprint, improve our sustainability goals and practically reduce negative environmental impact practices as much as possible in line with the Green Lab initiative.

BPS Crowthorne is looking to move to a practicable and sustainable mode of working, with a view to helping our customers do the same. With the ongoing demand for and implementation of these initiatives, BPS Crowthorne will help to ensure compliance for changes in environmental impact regulations in time for them coming into force.
