Grahame Gardner University package gets top marks

Grahame Gardner Ltd have recently introduced a number of initiatives which are proving incredibly popular in Schools of Nursing within Universities around the UK.

One of the most recent Universities to choose Grahame Gardner is the School of Health and Wellbeing in the University of Wolverhampton, who each year welcome 650 students onto their Nursing Courses.

Grahame Gardner now offer one of the most sophisticated measuring, ordering and distribution systems on the marketplace. Rather than traditional paper based orders, Grahame Gardners' team now input individual students measurements directly onto a bespoke database. Their software then configures all the measurements and, when the uniforms are ready for distribution, packages the garments with the correct student information. They are then automatically sorted in alphabetical order and delivered in batches prior to students’ placement dates. This streamlines the entire ordering process from the University perspective, removing the associated stress for the Managers and freeing up significant resources at the busiest point of the University year.

Christopher Cocks, NHS and Contracts Manager, comments on the change this new ordering system will make for colleges;

“Ensuring all students receive the correct uniform is a mammoth task for the University. Although the supplier often takes care of the measuring, there is also the problem of distribution and then trouble shooting − which is normally left with the University contact. With our new system we are effectively managing the entire uniform process, and as a result reducing delivery times. This is a key factor in the success of our current uniform package which has seen University sales increase three fold over the past year.”

Alongside this ordering and distribution system Grahame Gardner also offer very competitive prices and offer a ‘Stock Holding’ service for organisations that need a large number of garments over a long period.

Wolverhampton University have signed a 2-year contract with Grahame Gardner for students on all of the Nursing Courses. Grahame Gardner have worked with the college to adapt an existing stock garment, creating a distinctive uniform for all students. Tunics, trousers and fleeces in the College’s unique style will now be held at Grahame Gardner in preparation for measuring process.
