Salon software company celebrates success of Tip Smart solution for salons and beauty professionals

Developed in partnership with money management app Revolut, Tip Smart allows clients to easily tip using their credit or debit cards, with 100 per cent of the tip going straight into the team members’ bank account the same day. The seamless digital system offers a fast, secure and transparent way for customers to show appreciation – no cash required.

Since its launch last year, Tip Smart has already seen strong adoption in salons across the country. More than 46 per cent of salons using SalonIQ’s ‘IQ Pay’ feature are taking advantage of the Tip Smart solution, with tipping data showing an average tip of £18.17 over the last six weeks*. Impressively, tips are added to 67 per cent of bills, proving the popularity of the system.

Tip Smart not only benefits professionals but also salon owners, who are no longer required to manage or distribute cash tips. The system supports compliance with the new Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act, which ensures all tips, gratuities, and service charges are paid in full to the workers who earn them – without any deductions.
