Decent Neighbourhood Projects – featuring Southampton City Council

One of Southampton City Council’s many initiatives within their ‘Decent Neighbourhood’ scheme is to provide new bin bays made from 100% recycled plastic.

The benefits to residents are many:

  • Bins are tidied away out of sight – vastly improving the aesthetics of an area
  • Durable and long lasting. The bays are built to withstand the elements and heavy use.
  • More room for other communal requirements
  • No splintering, rotting or rusting.
  • Graffiti resistant
  • Jet washable
  • No maintenance

By purchasing recycled plastic bin bays, large amounts of plastic is saved from going to landfill, helping to create a cleaner, greener and more sustainable city.

Normandy bin bays (available from Goplastic: www.goplastic.co.uk), come with ready assembled panels for ease of installation. A variety of panel widths and heights, plus an extended leg option for soft ground installation, means there is a solution for all layouts.Available colours; Black, Brown, Beige, Grey and Green with ground sockets powder coated to match or contrast as you wish.
