BeaconMedaes UK signs distribution agreement with Gas Industry Services ltd to take net zero solutions to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

BeaconMedaes UK, part of the global Atlas Copco Group and a leading provider of sustainable medical gas infrastructure, is pleased to announce the signing of a significant distribution agreement with Gas Industry Services Ltd (GIS), headquartered in Northern Ireland.

The landmark partnership authorises GIS to supply and support the Central Destruction Unit (CDU) and Halogenated Drug Recovery (HDR) technologies across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, further expanding BeaconMedaes UK’s mission to enable greener healthcare environments.

This agreement represents a vital step forward in helping hospitals and healthcare providers mitigate the environmental impacts associated with medical gases, specifically nitrous oxide (found in Entonox) and volatile anaesthetic agents (F-Gases), which are among the most potent contributors to greenhouse gas emissions in clinical settings.

BeaconMedaes UK’s Turnkey Sustainable Solution for Entonox is recognised as the gold standard for processing of waste nitrous oxide emissions.  In addition, the HDR offers an unrivalled turnkey solution for the active recovery of volatile halogenated drugs such as Sevoflurane and Isoflurane.  The HDR and MedGasScan pipeline leak detection system combine to enable compliance with the latest EU sustainability and F-Gas regulations, including (EU) 2024/573.

GIS has long been a trusted partner to BeaconMedaes UK in the delivery of general medical gas systems across Northern Ireland.  This newly formalised agreement strengthens that relationship and allows GIS to offer the full range of BeaconMedaes UK solutions.

Paul Owen, UK National and Europe Sales Manager – Sustainable Solutions, BeaconMedaes UK, says, “Our partnership with Peter Chambers and the team at GIS represents a vital step in our mission to deliver sustainable medical gas solutions across the UK and the EU.  The team at GIS has a reputation for excellence in medical gas infrastructure and makes them the ideal partner to deploy our CDU and HDR solutions across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.  Together, we’re not only supporting healthcare providers in meeting their stringent net zero targets, but also protecting patients, staff, and the environment.”

Peter Chambers, Managing Director, GIS, says, “We’re thrilled to announce our new distribution agreement with BeaconMedaes, enabling us to bring innovative, net zero medical gas solutions to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.  This partnership underscores our commitment to sustainability and delivering cutting-edge healthcare solutions that prioritise both patient care and environmental responsibility.  Together with BeaconMedaes, we look forward to making a positive impact on the healthcare sector and contributing to a greener future for generations to come."

This important collaboration reinforces BeaconMedaes UK’s commitment to environmental leadership in medical gas infrastructure and its goal of supporting healthcare providers in reaching strict net-zero emissions.  The combined strengths of BeaconMedaes and GIS will ensure that hospitals in the region are fully equipped to meet their clinical, regulatory, and sustainability obligations.
