Windows 10 support ends Oct 14th - this will affect your business.
Microsoft has recently announced that Windows 10 support will officially end on the 14th of October 2025. After this date, any devices still running Windows 10 will no longer get updates or receive security patches. This also means that device support directly from Microsoft or your IT support company will be limited, or in worst case scenarios not possible.
The Windows 11 Upgrade is free of charge for up to date Windows 10 devices providing it meets a few hardware requirements. Windows 11 uses more modern security features and as such, requires specific hardware to run effectively. If you have not done so already, you urgently need to check your laptop/PC will meet these hardware requirements. Older devices will likely be unable to run this Windows update and you will need to arrange a new device.
You can check if your device meets this hardware requirement for free using the Windows PC Health Check app: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/how-to-use-the-pc-health-check-app-9c8abd9b-03ba-4e67-81ef-36f37caa7844
Devices that are not upgraded or replaced would be at an increased risk of security breaches and failure due to the lack of updates and support going forwards.
Please check with your IT support company today about this update and how it will affect you. If you need assistance with your in house IT support, please don't hesitate to contact us.
