Flour Mill Refurbishment Project

Transforming a 120-year-old 5-Storey Mill building, into a modern manufacturing facility, needs plenty of imagination, the right level of experience and a skilled team.

BIF worked closely with the Client's Project Design Team to propose a complete floor, wall & ceilings solution, which not only preserved the character of the building, but also provided practical surfaces, to improve safety and hygiene in manufacturing areas.

The phased project involved BIF covering over 2000m2 of walls and ceilings with fibre reinforced, spray applied hygienic coatings and 700m2 of flexible polyurethane resin, over the retained timber floors.

With all surfaces decorated, the vast quantity of Process Equipment was then hoisted into position, before we made a planned return to apply a final seal to floors.

The project completed on time and at the agreed cost and is a great example of how older industrial buildings can be restored to perform in today’s industrial environment.
