Air Management Solutions transforms Heating for Devon homeowner
Devon based heating & ventilation specialist Air Management Solutions, recently installed an energy-efficient heating and cooling system for a homeowner in Buckfastleigh, replacing their existing outdated electric heating with modern climate control.
The two-bedroom semi-detached property received a major heating upgrade with cooling capability, with the installation of a Daikin Multisplit air-to-air heat pump system, replacing the existing electric storage heaters and improving both comfort and energy efficiency.
The homeowner sought a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to their existing electric storage heating. After AMS assessed the property’s layout and heating needs, a Daikin Multisplit air-to-air heat pump was selected for its high efficiency, quiet operation, and dual heating and cooling capabilities.
The system comprised a single outdoor unit connected to four indoor wall-mounted cassettes, strategically placed in the lounge, diner, and both bedrooms. These units operate quietly, making them ideal for sleeping areas, and offer individual remote control with programmable timers—providing the convenience of traditional heating systems with modern flexibility.
One of the key advantages of this installation was the minimal disruption to the property’s structure. With solid flooring on the ground level and no need to lift floorboards upstairs, the team routed refrigeration pipework externally along the conservatory wall, up the rear exterior, and into the roof space before dropping into the bedrooms. On the ground floor, pipework was neatly housed in ceiling-level trunking before connecting to each unit.
To support the system’s cooling function during warmer months, condensate pumps were installed within the trunking elbows beside each indoor unit. Additionally, a protective security cage was fitted around the outdoor unit at the homeowner’s request to prevent access by children.
The client expressed satisfaction with the anticipated reduction in energy bills, the quiet and efficient performance, and the added benefit of cooling during summer.
