Transforming an office into a fully zoned, functional workspace

Business Furniture Direct supported a client with partitioning to create a more functional workspace—starting with agreed 2D layouts, followed by 3D visuals to help stakeholders clearly understand the proposed outcome. We then assisted with furniture selection, supply, delivery, and installation to complete the project.

Project overview

The client required improved use of their new office space. Business Furniture Direct proposed a partitioning solution to define zones and support day-to-day working—without needing significant structural change. The process began with agreed 2D layouts, followed by 3D visuals to support internal approvals.

  • Challenge: Create a better utilisation of space with clearer functional zones to their new premises.
  • Solution: Partitioning supported by 2D planning and 3D visualisation.
  • Delivery: Furniture selection guidance, supply, delivery and installation. Crate hire to move their existing items to their new premises.

How the project progressed

2D plan agreedWe created and refined the 2D layout to confirm partition positioning, circulation routes, and key workspace zones. This ensured the plan was accurate and agreed prior to any 3D visualisation work.

23D plan generatedUsing the approved 2D plan, we produced a 3D visualisation to help the client clearly see how the proposed space would look, improving speed and confidence in stakeholder approval. The 3D plan showed the proposed furniture in their colour scheme which gave them a true representation on how the office would look.

3Furniture selection and specificationWe supported the client in selecting suitable furniture to match the new layout, considering aesthetics, functionality, and budget.

4Delivery and installationBusiness Furniture Direct coordinated delivery and installation, ensuring the furniture and partitioning solution was completed efficiently and professionally.

Outcome

The new partitioning and furniture layout provided improved space utilisation and clearer zones for different work styles. The combination of 2D planning and 3D visualisation reduced uncertainty and supported quicker decision-making.
