World Cement January 2026 | Innovation with Infrared
Read our latest article in World Cement Magazine, where we explore how advanced infrared temperature monitoring systems are enhancing clinker cooling efficiency.
“As the world’s population rises, cement continues to be vital for housing, commercial construction projects, and wider global infrastructure.
There are thought to be around 3000 active cement plants across the world, producing over 4 billion tpy of this key material.
Temperature monitoring at every stage of the manufacturing process is essential to support process efficiency and cement product quality. Devices such as non-contact infrared thermometers and thermal imaging systems play an important role in helping to protect valuable assets within a cement plant.
Early detection of refractory issues or insufficiently quenched clinkers, for example, can help prolong the life of the kiln. Left unchecked, these issues could potentially halt production.
Beyond the conveyor belt, monitoring solutions play a crucial role in improving safety, emissions control, and reporting. With industry regulations tightening across the UK and EU, there has never been a greater need for accurate, real-time data to be logged and analysed – both for current operations and future planning.”
