Outdoor play is always on as Pottons'' brand new pre-school goes under cover

Potton Pre-School has moved to brand new premises on the Potton Lower School site − with a colourful addition that will enable the children to play outside come rain, snow or shine.

The purpose-built canopy from schools specialist Able Canopies will enable the children to get fresh air whatever the weather, as Potton Pre-School Chairwoman Anna Adnitt explains:

"We are thrilled with the new building, and we felt that it was an ideal time to try a get a canopy fitted to enable outside play all year round for the children that attend the premises. The canopy is stunning and it has already made a huge difference to the children and staff at the pre-school, as the little ones are able to play outside even in the rain and snow. The Pre-school applied to the council for a grant to cover some of the cost for the canopy and this enabled us to provide a substantial amount of protection for the children. The children have settled into the new premises brilliantly and enjoy the extra space, all of the toys being available for them to choose and also the bigger outdoor space and the protection from the elements that is provided by the canopy. The canopy is stunning and it has already made a huge difference to the children and staff at the pre-school, as the little ones are able to play outside even in the rain and snow. It has already become an integral part of the building and an area that the children enjoy hugely."

Potton Pre-School has been run as a committee managed charity since 1965 and has thrived, with approximately 80 local children on the register aged between two and a half and four years old. An integral part of the community, Potton Pre-School is supported by local fundraising and will celebrate its 45th birthday with a summer party this year.
