Colourful canopies provide cover for children

The staff and pupils At Buckingham Primary School are a little more relaxed when it comes to weather reports these days.

Since the installation of their third playground canopy outdoor play and learning is rarely off the daily agenda which makes for happy children − which is of course rather good for the teachers too!

Sally Ballard, the schools' business manager had no hesitation in recommending schools specialists Able Canopies for their most recent project as previous experience of working with them had proved to be so successful;

‘From start to finish we found them to be just fantastic to work with. Not only were their rates very competitive they were also extremely responsive to our needs and sympathetic to the environment of our school. We were running holiday clubs at the time of construction, which only took three days but we had great peace of mind knowing that they were so safety aware and that each site worker had been CRB checked as well. All our age groups enjoy the canopies, they are highly practical and the children love how colourful they are.”

The latest canopy was funded by the school and with the aid of an Early Years Grant from Buckinghamshire County Council. Sally continued;

‘All our age groups enjoy the canopies, they are highly practical and the children love how colourful they are. The staff are able to arrange a great variety of activities out of the classroom all year round, whatever the weather − with perhaps the exception of extremely wet or snowy conditions.’

With outdoor learning a condition of Primary School learning as stated by Ofsted the three canopies now in place at Buckingham Primary School are guaranteed to provide a protective, safe and enjoyable environment for their school community for now and for the years to come.
