Bio-Bubble Kiosk Housekeeping Guide
Why your kiosk needs regular housekeeping
Your kiosk is the control centre of your Bio‑Bubble Wastewater Treatment Plant. It houses essential electrical components, compressor(s) and monitoring equipment.
Good housekeeping isn’t cosmetic — it’s critical protection against damage, failures, and unnecessary repair costs.
🧽 What you should do
•Clean the exterior — With a damp cloth or sponge. Wipe down the kiosk with warm soapy water to remove dirt, salt, and debris. If you have a wrapped or GRP kiosk then treat the surface with a good quality UV protection car polish.
•Check ventilation grills — Ensure vents are clear so equipment doesn’t overheat.
•Remove vegetation — Keep grass, weeds and shrubs at least 600mm away from the kiosk.
•Inspect door seals — Make sure the door closes fully to prevent water ingress.
•Ensure clear access — Keep the area unobstructed for servicing and emergency attendance.
⚠️ What happens if housekeeping is not carried out
Neglecting the kiosk can lead to serious and expensive issues, including:
•Water ingress — Can cause electrical and mechanical failure. This can stop your plant from processing.
•Overheating — Blocked vents reduce airflow, damaging blowers and control equipment.
•Alarm failures — Poor signal or vegetation obscuring the aerial can stop the system sending notifications.
•Non-compliance — If the plant cannot operate correctly, effluent quality may fall below required standards.
•Increased service costs — Repairs caused by lack of housekeeping are not covered under standard servicing.
🛡️ Your responsibility as the system owner
Regular housekeeping is part of ongoing owner maintenance and is essential to keep your Bio-Bubble system compliant, efficient, and protected. A clean, well-maintained kiosk helps ensure:
•Reliable operation
•Longer equipment lifespan
•Fewer callouts
•Lower running costs
•Your discharge stays in consent
•Your drains do not back up due to component failures
