Rapid Energy Announces Scottish Investment to Create Jobs, Strengthen Critical Services and Develop Engineering Skills
Rapid Energy invests in Scottish expansion, creating local employment opportunities and strengthening engineering skills through a new depot and Glasgow training partnership
Rapid Energy, a specialist provider of rapid-response and mission-critical temperature control hire solutions, has announced an investment in Scotland focused on creating local jobs, expanding operational capacity and supporting the resilience of essential services and Scottish industry. The expansion follows investment in Rapid Energy by Baird Capital and includes plans for the company’s first Scottish depot and a partnership with Glasgow-based the Gas Certification Company.
The new depot will establish a permanent Scottish operational base, bringing temporary heating and cooling equipment and technical support closer to customers. The investment is intended to improve response capability for organisations facing unexpected equipment failures, planned shutdowns or urgent capacity requirements, including military hospitals, local authorities, housing associations and businesses across Scotland’s industrial economy.
A central priority is job creation and investment in local capability. Rapid Energy plans to recruit Scottish talent to support its growing operations, while investing in the equipment, infrastructure and skills needed to deliver dependable services over the long term.
Alongside the depot investment, Rapid Energy has partnered with Gas Certification Company Ltd, a Glasgow-based gas and renewable energy training and assessment centre. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to practical skills development and opportunities for engineers working in Scotland.
As part of the partnership, a Rapid Energy boiler will be used within the centre’s training facilities, giving approximately 500 engineers who use the centre each year practical exposure to temporary boiler solutions. The initiative will also help Rapid Energy build connections with Scotland’s engineering community and identify future local talent.
Julien Fougere, Founder and CEO of Rapid Energy, said:
“We are excited to invest in Scotland and, above all, in the Scottish people. Scotland has a world-renowned engineering heritage and a wealth of technical expertise. We want to build on that strength by creating skilled jobs, supporting local industry and investing in the people who will help shape our future.”
“Our new depot will bring critical heating and cooling capability closer to the organisations that depend on it, from military sites, hospitals and local authorities to housing associations and industrial businesses. Working with the Gas Certification Company also gives us a practical way to support engineers, develop their skills further and help build the next generation of expertise in Scotland.”
Ross Irvine, who was born and raised in Scotland and is leading Rapid Energy’s Scottish operations, said:
“As someone who was born and brought up in Scotland, I’m proud to be leading Rapid Energy’s expansion here. I know the strength of our local engineering community and how important dependable support is to Scottish businesses and essential services. Establishing a local team and depot means we can respond more effectively, build lasting relationships and create opportunities for people in Scotland.”
The new Scottish depot at Sandpoint Marina, Woodward Road, Dumbarton, G82 4BG is open and ready for business.
