Treston Announces Sponsorship of Electronics Competition at WorldSkills London 2011

Leading technical furniture manufacturer Treston has announced that it will be providing 24 ESD workbenches and accessories as the sponsor of the electronics competition at WorldSkills London.

The sponsorship will enable Treston to contribute to the promotion of technical skills within the electronics industry and to showcase its ergonomic, durable and ESD protected workbenches under the spotlight of the world’s largest skills competition.

The electronics competition will see talented young electronics technicians from across the globe compete to become the best of the best in their field. At WorldSkills London they will be set a series of challenges in which to demonstrate their problem solving ability and expertise at repairing electronic devices.

WorldSkills brings together 1000 young competitors from 50 nations to compete in 45 skill areas across seven sectors. Along with electronics, there are competitions in a wide array of disciplines, from the creative arts and fashion to transport and logistics. Along with showcasing the talent of individual competitors, WorldSkills is designed to amaze and inspire its 150,000 visitors, and to encourage more young people to pursue a rewarding career in a skilled profession.

The workbenches supplied by Treston, that are to be used in the electronics competition, have been designed and built for use in manufacturing plants, technical labs and other industrial environments. As well as being durable and hardwearing, the workbenches can be ergonomically optimised and combined with other industrial furniture to enable the implementation of the latest productivity improving methodologies. They also provide protection against the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD), which costs the electronics industry billions every year.
