Contract Shopping streamlines uniform process for Teesside University.

Teesside University enrols approximately 800 non-medical students each year and managing the uniform requests for each of them can prove time consuming and sometimes problematic.

Some of these issues are now being alleviated as the students can access a Grahame Gardner Contract Shopping website. The latter is supported by secure passwords, a personal delivery service and 24 hour access.

Teesside University has used Grahame Gardner for a number of years to provide their students with uniforms. Each student is allocated a specific number of uniforms, tunics and trousers. This initial bulk order is conducted as a mass measuring and distribution project for each of the two intakes per year. Beyond this, however, some students may request change or alteration of uniforms later on in their course.

Liz Harwood, Assistant Administrator in the School of Health and Social Care at Teesside University manages this process. She explains:-
“Many students choose to order new or replacement uniforms throughout the academic year and managing their requests, following up orders and arranging delivery can become very time consuming. The School continues to look at how processes and procedures can be more efficient and cost effective and I worked with Grahame Gardner to come up with this website solution.

It is important that our students receive a good service as it compliments their overall experience on their respective courses. We are pleased with this new enhanced facility to date which commenced approximately two years ago. Obviously we will continue to monitor it and seek feedback from our students”

As with all on-line shopping services, it is imperative that this facility operated from a password based system. Consequently, each course and year receives a different password.
