Green Credentials for North West Generator & Switchgear Specialists

Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services achieves ISO14001 accreditation

St-Helens based Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services has been awarded the coveted environmental accreditation, ISO14001:2004 by the British Standards Institution (BSI), arguably the UK’s leading, but most stringent, standards and certification body.

The accreditation is awarded to companies with excellent environmental management standards.

The highly sought after award marks the culmination of nearly twelve months work towards achieving this latest standard. The ISO14001:2004 accreditation sets new operational standards that are focused on ensuring that the company meets all applicable laws, regulations and environmental legislation together with minimising the organisation’s impact on the environment and implementing continual improvements to environmental sustainability.

Keith Littler, Managing Director, Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services Ltd said, “This is great news for Burtonwood. It marks the tremendous efforts made by Jim Wainwright, our quality consultant and all our employees working with enthusiasm and dedication towards this award.”

“ We have always prided ourselves on the level of service that we offer to our customers and this accreditation shows how committed we are to green practices when fulfilling their needs.”

The award marks the half way mark in major developments for the generator & switchgear specialists. Having brought in new operational staff and opening a branch office in Peterborough, the company is now looking to expand again with further regional offices and technicians to provide more localised service thus reducing its environmental impact in line with the company’s new environmental objectives.

The award covers the manufacture, supply, installation and servicing of diesel generators and associated equipment together with the design of generator control systems; all key elements of the Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services’ operation.
