Ice Hockey Stars Experience Neptunus Hospitality

For the second year running, temporary structures specialist Neptunus has provided backstage areas for the athletes and construction team at the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship 2012, which took place earlier this month in Valkenburg, The Netherlands.

Sponsored by energy drink Red Bull, Crashed Ice is an extreme winter sport event, which involves a combination of ice hockey, downhill skating and boardercross on a track with steep turns and high vertical drops.

To ensure that the world''s greatest ice hockey players could prepare for their races in the best possible environment, Neptunus constructed a large Alu Hall to house an ''athletes village'', complete with restaurants, changing rooms, massage rooms and an entertainment lounge.

Neptunus'' Alu Hall is well suited to events like the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship. As a multipurpose, clear span structure, available in a multitude of widths, the Alu Hall provided a modern and versatile space to contain all the facilities.

The temporary structure specialist also supplied catering pavilions for visitors and additional Alu Halls for use by the crew that constructed and dismantled the complex racetrack.

April Trasler, Neptunus'' UK managing director, says: "After the success of last year''s event we were again asked to provide the backstage areas for the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship."

Designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, Neptunus''s structures were also recently installed at the Alpine Ski World Cup in Austria.
