Operating from a small business unit in Basingstoke, Hampshire, it set up manufacturing high-performance desktop and server computers. The Taran brand quickly became synonymous with high performance and reliability. By 1996, Taran was listed in the Sunday Times top 100 UK IT businesses and was presented an award by renowned entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson.
