In 1990 Sue Harrison was given the opportunity by Jean Atkins, sister of Kenneth Ackerley, who was involved in the design of the original matrix seating system to work part-time making matrix seat covers. Sue was given a zig zag sewing machine which was installed in a converted garage in her family home and after a weeks training from Jean, she was ready to go.
